Electric scooters have gained huge popularity in a short period of time. And this is not surprising: with their help, you can overcome significant distances in a short period of time and completely independent of traffic jams in big cities. There are electric vehicles in addition to models for driving around the city. They can drive on the worst roads. This is an off road electric scooter.

How this vehicle is arranged

Let’s look at what parts the electric scooter consists of and what functions they perform.

The main mechanism on which all the equipment is located is considered to be the load-bearing frame. The material of its manufacture is aluminium, steel or carbon fiber. Carbon fiber frame is considered the lightest and strongest, but it is more expensive.

The platform on which the user stands while driving is called a deck. It should be tightly connected to the frame. Control electronics and a rechargeable battery are installed under this platform. The deck has a rough rubber surface for stability and anti-slip.

The handle bar performs the functions of controlling the electric drive and the choice of directions during the trip. The steering rack can be of standard height or with a telescopic device to adjust the height according to the users.

Depending on the type of electric vehicle, an electric or disc brake can be installed on it. Braking occurs smoothly with the help of electric system. This type is installed on urban scooter models.
Disc brakes allow you to make an instant stop and are more suitable for off-road scooters. In addition to the listed types, there is also a foot brake – it is carried out by pressing on the rear wing.

The wheel sizes on adult electric scooters are from 4 to 12 inches. Inflatable (pneumatic) or cast wheels are used most often. Pneumatic wheels act as a shock absorber and allow for a more comfortable ride. Still, castings wheels are more durable.

The electric motor is the most important part. It is installed in the wheel: if it is in the front, the design is considered front–wheel drive, if in the rear – rear-wheel drive. If two motors are installed in the scooter, this is considered an all-wheel drive device.

The control electronics shows information about the speed of movement, battery charge and displays it on the screen on the handle bar. Depending on the model of electric transport, the number of functions shown may vary: analyse the distance travelled, control the modes of the electric motor, as well as remotely block the operation of transport.

Shock absorbers are needed for a more comfortable ride and are spring-loaded or gas-filled. Budget models of electrical devices usually do not include shock absorbers in the package, so smoothing out road irregularities is more often performed by inflatable wheels.

The off-road range of electric vehicles can have up to four powerful spring shock absorbers.

There are many models of electronic scooters that differ in many indicators. Pay attention to the quality and reliability of electric scooters from iScooter.
