When buying a new or used truck, private carriers and transport companies ask which model and type of engine is the best to choose. When making a choice between a gasoline and a diesel truck, the main criteria are the maintainability of the engine and the efficiency of cargo transportation, for which the most important indicator will be fuel consumption. The cost of transportation directly depends on this.

What are the main advantages of diesel truck?

1. Profitability. Standard diesel fuel is often less expensive than gasoline. Considering that the fuel consumption of diesel engines is 10 – 20% less than that of gasoline engines, this is the most important indicator. With long flights of 1000 – 2000 km, the savings are impressive. Improving economic performance reduces the cost of freight, increases the profitability of the truck.

2. Safety of diesel fuel. Diesel does not belong to flammable types of fuel, therefore there is no spontaneous combustion of fuel gases. Diesel fuel exhaust is less toxic and contains a low amount of carbon dioxide.

3. Large torque. This indicator is important so that a loaded truck can easily move from a place and pick up the optimal speed without maximum fuel consumption. Good torque indicators allow the driver to deliver a heavy truck for loading and unloading on time.

4. Replacement of parts and service of diesel power plants are also relatively easier than gasoline ones. Used diesel truck parts are as reliable as original diesel engine parts and can be replaced with truck parts that have been retired, making servicing truck diesel engines a relatively simple task compared to servicing and replacing gasoline engine parts.

However, which truck to choose is up to you. The main thing is to responsibly approach this issue and study all the main points and characteristics
